PRACTICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF NEONATAL SCREENING FOR CONGENITAL HYPOTHYROIDISM

Abstract

Neonatal screening for congenital hypothyroidism is an effective method of early diagnosis. The presented observation demonstrates the importance of screening for early diagnosis, which allows to start treatment on time and prevent disability. The article considers 4 clinical cases of congenital hypothyroidism diagnosed by the results of neonatal screening. The features of the clinic of hypothyroidism in children aged one month are described. The data of laboratory and instrumental methods of research, indicators of the level of thyroid hormones before and after replacement therapy are demonstrated. The results of dispensary observation of children with congenital hypothyroidism in the first year of life are presented.
